Fetish Friday

Color degradation is in these days, and are metallics. SO, I figured that Pensly by Jessica Simpson was quite the trendy shoe. It also has the sleek wedge and cut-outs on the sides. I think it's pretty cute.
You can buy these guys next time you feel like dropping $89 on some cute shoes.

Sorry I always pick similar shoes... are there any types of shoes you want me to find? I guess I could start looking for orthopedic shoes (see last post). Happy Friday!

tick tock goes the clock

I was walking home from the pool last night feeling young and cool when I realized that in exactly 5 months I would be turning 30. Then I started getting shortness of breath, my heart beat faster, my chest tightened and I almost died.

I can't believe I won't be in my twenties anymore. I'll really have to officially be a grown up. My knees will start to ache, I'll have to be in bed by 10:00, I'll watch the nightly news with my cup of tea, and I'll start saying things like, "Heavens to Betsey" or "Back in my day we didn't have things like GPS systems. If we wanted to get someplace we had to use a map!"

I've already started to wonder if either one of my doctor siblings can get their hands on some Juvederm for me... maybe some Botox?

Oh, this really stinks. I guess I'll put on my muu-muu and orthopedics and go cook Lucas some breakfast.

Fetish Friday

Ever since the Gladiator sandal came back in style I have wanted to gag myself with a fork. They just remind me of a bad time in fashion called the 80's (sorry, Carrie). But, as I do with many fashion trends, I have started to warm up to some of them. Not these or these, but these Anne Klein's are pretty cute. They are named Mariah.... probably after Mariah Carey since she was such a hit in the 80's. In all seriousness, these actually don't remind me of the 80's at all. I think they are perfectly cute and I would wear them in a heartbeat... if I had the $79 to buy them.
FYI, these beauties from a previous entry are on the sale rack at Macy's for $55. I stopped by today and Lucas threw his raisins all over the floor, but I wouldn't leave until I tried them on. Happy Friday!

Conversation that took place between Ben and a guy who worked at HEB tonight:

Guy: "Can I ask you a question? How tall are you?"
Ben: "Six feet, six inches."
Guy: "They don't make us Hispanic people like that... Man, if you were in Vietnam like I was back in the day, you wouldn't have lasted one day!"

Weird, huh? Poor Benny. Good thing he wasn't in Vietnam!

Fetish Friday

I wanted to go a little out of the box for my shoe today. This is "Michelle" by Betsey Johnson. We all know Betsey Johnson has crazy stuff - most is too crazy for me, but honestly, this shoe is pretty dang cute. If you had a special event and a really cute dress, Michelle could be the cherry to your outfit sundae. She also comes in green and pink, which is even more wild, but could be even more cute! Seriously imagine the green/pink shoes with a pink flirty, flowy dress.
You can buy Michelle at Nordstrom for $190.

The other day when I was in Albuquerque, Ben called me and told me that there was a huge fly in our bathroom. He said he killed it and more and more kept coming out and he killed them all - about 20 of them. He threw them all away. BUT, the next day he killed even MORE.
Apparently while we were out of town some flies got busy in the bathroom and made a bunch of babies. GROSS! Luckily I was out of town and Ben murdered every last one of them. And luckily the evidence was in a cup on the bathroom counter waiting upon my arrival. I think I would rather not have known about this event, but the cup of flies is too funny not to share. There are also a few blood stains on the bathroom window. Ben can murder bugs really well, but the guy leaves an evidence trail a mile long.

Fetish Friday... a little late

Dang, we looked good! Joanna (left) scored a sweet pair of $325 shoes on sale at Dillards for 75% off and I got my Nine West shoes just in time for the wedding.
The bride looked good, too, of course.
