Fetish Friday

Anyone feel like wearing a 6" heel with a 2" platform? Me either - sounds like a trip to urgent care to me. I saw this and couldn't pass it up for a Fetish Friday. This is a Guiseppe Zanotti. It retails for $750, but it's on sale for $450. I don't know who would wear it... it is one of the hot picks on Piperlime, though.

In other news, there is this new site called Shop It To Me. It's a cool little site that shops for sales for you. You put in the brands you like and it sends you an emails about what is on sale. I signed up for just a couple brands. Yesterday I got an email and discovered my Nine West shoes were on sale even more than before, so I ordered them from Piperlime and we'll see if they'll work for the wedding. Piperlime has free shipping and free returns, so it's a win-win situation.

The Bachelorette

Now, I'm not the kind of girl who is devoted to The Bachelor. But, when my poor husband is at work and I'm home alone until the late night hours, I am the kind of girl who will watch The Bachelorette while I fold my laundry. It's much less annoying and... well, you know.
Anyhow, here are my pics to go far in the game: Jason and Graham.

Jason is a 31 year-old single father, account exec. Graham is a 29 year-old pro basketball player. I like Jason more, but both are very sweet and handsome, but not too good looking. There are some guys who are way too into their looks and think they are so pretty - the kind that rip off their shirts so she will feel their muscles.
As I watched, I thought, What would Ben have done in this situation to get her attention? I think he would have done something very creative, sweet, and funny to catch her eye... most likely involving something he designed... a card & poem, perhaps. Good thing he got me w/o wasting all that time on TV!

Let's hope none of our kids do this... or smoke with cigarettes. We might have to take video games away for a week!

Fetish Friday

Today I took it upon myself to find an affordable shoe that you could just go out and buy. I decided I would look at Payless instead of searching Dillards, Piperlime, and Macys (we all know I wouldn't have found a deal at Nordstrom). So, here she is: the Romance Espadrille - no need for a fancy name like "Chloe" or "Abigail" here. She is what she is. And she is available for the low price of only $16.99 in pink or green. Happy Summer, everyone. Enjoy your espadrilles.

The System

I don't want to sound like I'm picking on Ben because I love him - he's a wonderful, hard-working husband. He is currently at work, working on the same golf catalog that almost ruined his b-day party. The same golf catalog that has ruined several weeks of his life for the past two years. He will be working his butt off all next week during the photo shoot, and hopefully he will be able to come on our trip to ABQ...

Anyhow, this morning he got dressed to go to work and he put on grey shorts and a light blue knit collared shirt. I looked at him for a minute trying to decide whether or not I should tell him that it looked funny - it is Saturday after all and there won't be too many people at the office, but then he would want to wear it if we do something tonight, so I decided I better let him know. I told him he had to wear nicer shorts, or keep his grey shorts on and wear another t-shirt, but it couldn't be grey. He pouted and changed shirts.

Ben: "But this (blue) shirt has been on the couch for like a week."
Me: "So, hang it up."
Ben: "You obviously don't understand. That messes up the system."

Obviously I don't understand. I guess there is a difference between the clothes on the floor, on the hangers (inside-out and right-side-out), and on the couch. I'll have to wait and see what happens to yesterday's green shirt that is currently on the floor. Maybe some day I will learn the system... or he will hang up his clothes.

Poopy Hands

The other day I was cleaning toilets while Ben bathed Lucas. As a matter of fact, it was Mother's Day, so Ben felt really guilty and offered to clean the toilets. I wouldn't let him because when he cleans the toilets he puts his bare hands in there. HIS NAKED HANDS! I told him he could only clean the toilets if he used the appropriate scrubber tool and did not put his hand in. Needless to say, I cleaned the toilets myself. I don't really care - he was watching Lucas and it only takes a few minutes. I did have him clean the sink though, scrubbing with a toothbrush and all.

Ben says that putting your hand in the toilet is no grosser than changing a diaper and that you get just as much poop on your hand. GROSS. You probably actually get less poop on your hand by just sticking it in the toilet, but still... it's just foul. To think I let him touch me with those toilet scrubbing hands...

Yes, I know if I want Ben to do work around the house I can't make him do it my way, and that I have to accept his way of doing things, even if it's not how I would do it.... But, poopy hands? Come on!

How do you make your can shine?

(On another note: I do love the way Ben paints the house. He just put crown molding up and after he was done he went around the whole room with a little tiny artist's paintbrush making sure all the paint was perfect again. He had to use 4 different colors. He does this every time we paint a wall - always perfect!)

Fetish Friday

How could I not love this shoe by Nine West? Not only is it stinking cute, but it's name is Harman (and notice it's spelled right!). I found it in my never ending search for a shoe for my friend's wedding. It comes in black, but unfortunately they don't have it in my size. They have a 9 and I usually need a 9 1/2. There's only one place to buy them online... They come in this pretty blue, black, and I saw a light pink somewhere, too. I just can't believe how cute they are! They were originally $93 and are on sale for $42.55 (49.50 with shipping).
What's a girl to do? Order the 9 and risk it not fitting or just bite the bullet and order the other cute shoes?
UPDATE: I just found them in a snake skin by the name of Haben. Why they just can't name the shoe the same thing? I don't know. It does come in my size... it's a few bucks more. But will snake skin look as pretty with my black satin dress?

Fetish Friday

This shoe is Foxie by Anne Klein. It's on sale at Piperlime for $65.99 down from $89. I think it's cute because of the peep toe and perfectly formed bow, but it's also interesting because it's half white and half black. I don't know if it would be as cute on, but it might be. If not, it also comes in all black.
I'm still looking around for a shoe to wear for my friend's wedding. I'm afraid I might fall in the Antonio Melani's. Alas, I don't want to spend money. What's a girl to do? I might head to Macy's and see if they have these other shoes on sale. They look sturdy and comfy... and really cute.
